Sari Goldman, M.S.W., R.S.W., AccFM

I work with individuals, couples, and families struggling with mental health, life transitions, marriage, parenthood, relational difficulties including communication, separation/divorce, trauma, and loss.

Through a process of building trust and rapport, my role is to help you identify therapy goals and to support you in this journey.

Whether you’re looking to find balance and personal growth, to better understand triggers and responses, or to reflect and grieve, I’m here to create a safe space for you to understand and process experiences and emotions. The agenda for therapy is set by you, as YOU are indeed the expert in your own life.

My Approach

In all areas of practice, I bring warmth, authenticity, humour, and compassion. My approach to treatment focuses on self-determination and respect for the individual experience, acknowledging that the client is the expert in their own lives.

I draw on several therapeutic treatments with certification in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Grief and Loss Counselling, Trauma Counselling, and Mindfulness approaches, among other modalities.

I value and prioritize the therapeutic relationship in order to best allow for openness, vulnerability, and trust to explore histories and facilitate meaningful change. Working collaboratively with clients from a strength-based perspective, therapy is provided in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental, and supportive environment.

More About Me

I’m a registered Social Worker and Accredited Family Mediator who received a Master’s Degree from Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University, New York.

With over 20 years of experience, I work within a mental health and wellness framework and trauma informed lens. I’ve worked as a violence against women social worker and advocate at a family service agency which prompted me to pursue accreditation as a family mediator.

Additionally, I found a passion working with executive and corporate clients, providing support to leadership, teams, and individuals within organizations. I’ve provided support to employees in various settings including schools, firms, start-up companies, amongst other private corporate environments.
